The National Hidden Talents Academy

In October 2010, the team went to the National Hidden Talents Academy in Dagoretti. This was the first school the FabLab Outreach team went to and our second time going to it.

While there, we taught PicoCricket to the Form 3 and 4 students, specifically those who were studyng Physics.  We explained to the students the different components of the PicoCricket, i.e.: the PicoCricket, the sensors (light, sound, resistor, touch), the motor and motor board, connectors, the beamer  and PicoBlocks the software.

This was achieved by splitting the students into groups and having at least two outreach members supervise each group. The students then used the PicoCricket kit to make different items.

We were all pleased to see how enthusiastic the students were. They were really interested in what we were teaching them and we could tell that they really enjoyed it too!
